Preschool Story Hour


April 20, 2020

Preschool Story Hour taps into the boundless energy of three to five-year-olds to get your child involved in this interactive story time. This program will engage your children with stories, finger plays and songs and encourage them to learn sounds, letter recognition, and new words as they grow into pre-readers. Each program is followed by a hands-on craft and snacks.

After School Program - CANCELED

After School Program at the Town of Ulster Public Library encourages learning through music, play, crafts and games. Each week is a different activity and snacks are provided. Ages 5 to 12 welcome.

April 6th - Make Spring flowers for local nursing home
April 13th - National Scrabble Day! Play Scrabble and other word games
April 20th - Continue making Spring flowers
April 27th - Continue making flowers or play with Hexbugs

Tutor Tuesday

Introducing Tutor Tuesday! If you or a student you know needs help with Social Studies or English homework send your questions in an e-mail to Josh at tech@townofulsterlibrary.org. When articulating your questions, please try to be as specific as possible and refrain from sending any links or files. Once you have asked your question, a grade 7-12 certified Social Studies teacher will respond to your queries via e-mail. These responses will take place every Tuesday from 12-2 PM until the library is re-opened.

Adult Craft Night - POSTPONED

Learn how to make beautiful and simple carnation from tissue paper. Make two, and leave one for a good cause. Along with the Afterschool Program, we will be making these to gift to Ten Broeck Commons to brighten up their facility. Ages 16 and up welcome. Registration is required. Call the library at 845-338-7881 to register or stop by the circulation desk.

Baby & Me Story Hour - CANCELED

Baby & Me Story Hour focuses on developing your baby’s and toddler's pre-literacy skills. This lap-time story hour will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills during play time. A hands-on craft and snack follow each program. Children ages 0-3 and caregivers welcome.

Field Goods Pick-Up - CANCELED

Field Goods is a year-round local produce delivery service; customers receive 5 to 8 different fruit and vegetables (depending on bag size), plus optional add-ons. Bags cost $16 to $32 per week, and can be put on hold at any time. It’s flexible!

Field Goods purchases everything directly from over 80 small farms in the region. All of the produce is non-GMO, and most is organically grown.

T(w)een Labs Virtual Brainstorm

Join Town of Ulster Library teen coordinator Amy every Thursday @ 4pm for a Virtual Brainstorm! Teens can connect via ZOOM to talk about all the movies and shows, games and video games, and all the awesome books they have read, as well as brainstorm cool projects or crafts for T(w)een Labs to offer online and in person for when the library reopens. Bring a snack! Bring a pet! Come just to say hi!

This is a group that shares learning with each other. We usually do some folk music, popular music and anything else anyone might want to play… remember beginners are welcome and encouraged!
