June 2, 2020Introducing Tutor Tuesday! If you or a student you know needs help with Social Studies or English homework send your questions in an e-mail to Josh at tech@townofulsterlibrary.org. When articulating your questions, please try to be as specific as possible and refrain from sending any links or files. Once you have asked your question, a grade 7-12 certified Social Studies teacher will respond to your queries via e-mail. These responses will take place every Tuesday from 12-2 PM until the library is re-opened.

This storytime is for children ages 0-5 years, however, anyone is welcome. (This program is pre-recorded on the Town of Ulster Library's Children's Programs Facebook Page.)

Teens can connect via ZOOM to talk about all the movies and shows, games and video games, and all the awesome books they have read, as well as brainstorm cool projects or crafts for T(w)een Labs to offer online and in person for when the library reopens. Bring a snack! Bring a pet! Come just to say hi!

June 27, 2020A long time ago, in a faraway land, two brave villagers go on a daring journey to release the dragons and save the kingdom from an evil Ice Sorceress. When things don’t go as planned, however, the kids might need to look to themselves — and to science! — for the answer.
Don’t miss this fun fantasy adventure featuring awesome dry ice experiments as special effects! Grades K-5. Length: 35 minutes.

June 29, 2020You’ve got an invite to play Dungeons and Dragons with your library over the summer break! This is a unique opportunity to imagine your story by weaving the legend of your own hero through the gameplay of DnD. All you need to do is join our Monday meetings on Zoom and make an account on roll20.net, a free site for virtual tabletop gaming. Besides our weekly DnD sessions, you can join in the fun by participating in a video contest in which you answer questions about your personal heroes (whether they be real or fictional). And, naturally, there will be some book bingo to be played, with prizes to sweeten the deal! Journey to the peaks of your imagination… and back again. Ages 14-18 welcome.

School's OutSchool's Out

June 30, 2020The School’s Out Program for ages 5-12 years will meet on Zoom on Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m. Some of the fun activities will include: 1) build your own imaginary world or home using blocks, LEGOS, or recycled materials that you have at home 2) make a dragon craft 3) movie matinee 4) write our own fun fairy tales using Mad Libs 5) write and/or illustrate your own story (memoir or imaginary). If you like, you can share it with the group in the last session.
