Preschool Story HourPreschool Story Hour – Preschool Story Hour taps into the boundless energy of three to five-year-olds to get your child involved in this interactive story time. This program will engage your children with stories, finger plays and songs and encourage them to learn sounds, letter recognition, and new words as they grow into pre-readers. Each program is followed by a hands-on craft and snacks. After School Program: Makey Makey XylophoneAfter School Program: Makey Makey Xylophone – "Learning to code develops problem solving and computational thinking skills," which are necessary to succeed in today's world. Our After School Program will introduce coding concepts using a hands on approach, allowing each child to explore the theme of the week. Baby & MeBaby & Me – Caregiver and child program for ages 0-3 Baby & Me time focuses on developing your baby’s and toddler's pre-literacy skills. This lap-time story hour will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills during play time. The program runs for an hour and snacks are provided. Tech Trouble WednesdayTech Trouble Wednesday – Is your computer not acting the way you'd like? We can help! Whether your email's eating messages or you can't quite make Microsoft Word work the way you'd like, our volunteer Chris is happy to assist, no appointment necessary. Field Goods Pick-UpField Goods Pick-Up – Field Goods is a year-round local produce delivery service; customers receive 5 to 8 different fruit and vegetables (depending on bag size), plus optional add-ons. Bags cost $16 to $32 per week, and can be put on hold at any time. It’s flexible! Field Goods purchases everything directly from over 80 small farms in the region. Teen night is a dedicated, safe time for tween and teens to socialize. It is intended specifically for teens to experience some freedom and independence, so registration and attendance is limited to kids ages 9-15 years. Special Presentation by the Hudson River Maritime MuseumSpecial Presentation by the Hudson River Maritime Museum HRMM Director of Education Sarah Wassberg will talk about new developments at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, including the Riverport Wooden Boat School, new family programs, new exhibits, upcoming events, and more. Ms. Wassberg will also be happy to answer your questions! The Hudson River Maritime Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries, and related industries. Located on the historic Rondout waterfront, the Hudson River Maritime Museum was established in 1980 to collect, preserve, research, exhibit, and interpret a collection of historical artifacts related to the maritime heritage of the Hudson River and its tributaries. This is the only museum in New York State exclusively dedicated to this mission. |
