July 1, 2019(2 events) – Preschool Story Hour taps into the boundless energy of three to five-year-olds to get your child involved in this interactive story time. This program will engage your children with stories, finger plays and songs and encourage them to learn sounds, letter recognition, and new words as they grow into pre-readers. Each program is followed by a hands-on craft and snacks. – Register for the Summer Reading Program and sign up for special program offerings. Decorate reading logs, enjoy face painting with New Creation Face and Body Art, visit with Zoey, a certified reading therapy dog, create a mural, and participate in a sing-along with Ms. Kelley. Receive a prize when you register! * If you are unable to register at the Kick-off Party, you may register after July 1st. |

We will supply the bricks. – Concerns, questions or suggestions? We encourage all Town of Ulster residents to attend a Library Board meeting. July 3, 2019(2 events) – Baby & Me Story Hour focuses on developing your baby’s and toddler's pre-literacy skills. This lap-time story hour will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills during play time. A hands-on craft and snack follow each program. Children ages 0-3 and caregivers welcome. – Field Goods is a year-round local produce delivery service; customers receive 5 to 8 different fruit and vegetables (depending on bag size), plus optional add-ons. Bags cost $16 to $32 per week, and can be put on hold at any time. It’s flexible! Field Goods purchases everything directly from over 80 small farms in the region. Ages 5-12 years 7/8- The Moon!: Reader’s Theater, make moon rocks and have a snack an astronaut would eat in space! 7/15- Stars Bingo Game: Play bingo and try to win a prize! 7/22- Astronaut Training: ...and a rocket blast activity! 7/29- Constellations: View different constellations using a Galaxy Planetarium. Make a constellation viewer. 8/5- Movie Matinee: Short episodes of space shows and popcorn will be served. – Zoey, our friend and trained therapy dog visits and offers young readers a chance to increase their confidence in reading by spending time with a certified therapy dog in a relaxing, stress-free environment. Registration required. Call or come to the desk to schedule a 15 minute session with Zoey. |

July 23, 2019(3 events) – Join us for an in-depth lecture on Lyme Disease given by Mary-Beth Charno, Nurse Practitioner and specialist in the care of tick-borne illness. The workshop will consist of a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30-minute Q&A. Topics discussed will include: -Facts about Lyme disease and tick-borne illness -Prevention and protection from Lyme -What to do with an acute infection -Lyme diagnostics – what every patient should know -Making the most of antibiotic treatment -Key strategies of a functional approach to tick-borne illness.
