Preschool Story HourPreschool Story Hour – Preschool Story Hour taps into the boundless energy of three to five-year-olds to get your child involved in this interactive story time. This program will engage your children with stories, finger plays and songs and encourage them to learn sounds, letter recognition, and new words as they grow into pre-readers. Each program is followed by a hands-on craft and snacks. Field Goods Pick-Up (moved from usual Wednesday due to holiday)Field Goods Pick-Up (moved from usual Wednesday due to holiday) – Field Goods is a year-round local produce delivery service; customers receive 5 to 8 different fruit and vegetables (depending on bag size), plus optional add-ons. Bags cost $16 to $32 per week, and can be put on hold at any time. It’s flexible! Field Goods purchases everything directly from over 80 small farms in the region. Summer Reading Kick-Off PartySummer Reading Kick-Off Party – Register for the Summer Reading Program and sign up for special programs. Decorate your reading logs, enjoy face-painting with KiDoodles, and participate in a sing-along with Ms. Kelley. Receive a special prize when you register. **If you are unable to register at the Kick-off Party, registration is on-going for the Summer Reading Program after July 7th. Registration for special programs helps us plan for snacks and supplies. Space is limited for certain programs. |

The program is open to any child between the ages of 5-12 years. Read to ZoeyRead to Zoey – Zoey, our friend and trained therapy dog visits and offers young readers a chance to increase their confidence in reading by spending time with a certified therapy dog in a relaxing, stress-free environment. Registration required. Call or come to the desk to schedule a 15 minute session with Zoey. |

Each child must bring an acoustic, 6 string guitar. Learn about the parts of a guitar, notes for the strings, how to tune the guitar and play some simple chords and songs. |

This lap-time story hour will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills during play time. The program runs for an hour and snacks are provided. Book Talk with Local Author Janet Johnson SchliffBook Talk with Local Author Janet Johnson Schliff How Do You Rewrite Your Life's Script after You've Suffered a Massive Brain Tumor? Janet Johnson Schliff was an award-winning special education teacher for 25 years. But, as her abilities began to fade away with no medical explanation, she suffered from obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD) behaviors that wreaked havoc on her much-loved teaching career. A massive brain tumor was discovered, and finally, after brain surgery, the odd behaviors it caused that had ruled her life for years were gone, only to be replaced by a different set of life-long challenges due to her injured brain. Her story will inspire and inform her readers. Janet holds degrees in special education and education. Her main reasons for writing this book are to try to help other families that have experienced brain injury, a difficult challenge that changes the lives of everyone involved, and to help the community at large understand people with disabilities better. Many of her doctors and therapists are surprised at how well she manages life's difficulties.
