This week is National Library Week! This year’s theme, “Welcome to Your Library,” promotes the idea that your library exists beyond the confines of the building itself, and that all are welcome to its services. With that in mind, here are some ways for you to celebrate National Library Week from the comfort of your home:
- Listen to ‘A National Library Week Conversation with Dan Rather’, where you’ll hear longtime journalist and author Dan Rather discuss his newest book, What Unites Us: Reflections on Patriotism, in celebration of Take Action for Libraries Day. This discussion will be held today, via Zoom, at 7:30 PM EST, so make sure you register soon! Here is the link to register.
- Head over to Hoopla, where you’ll find e-books, audiobooks, movies and so much more. You can access it by either clicking on the Hoopla link on our website, or clicking this link.
- Download and print activity sheets, courtesy of the American Library Association. You can find a National Library Week themed coloring page by clicking here (there is also a version in Spanish.) You can also try this National Library Week word search by clicking this link (here are the answers.)
